We want more art!

Tue Jul 8, 2008, 4:57 PM
NuuAAAUUAaar. That is a guttural noise of exasperation and frustration of not having the proper resources to share or even create some pictures. I've been in an artistic mood lately, and although I can and have vented much of my creative energies through Never Hundred [link]

I wish I had some paper. But even than I wish I had a scanner that worked. Oh because I have ideas. I even fell like story telling. I want to make a comic, one with plot and a bit of humor. But although I'm prepared emotionally and mentally, I don't have the opportunity or the resources. It's funny how things always work out that way.

pixil art...

Wed Jun 25, 2008, 11:31 AM
nur... living in an office working... um... not really. sleeping under a desk is kind of like I have a little fort cardboard box fort.
No.

not really at all. it's more like I'm BSing you and I'm really staying at the home of people I don't really know and sleeping in the room that belongs to there son that's away at college. And I still feel like it's the creepiest and weirdest thing ever. It is not my room or place to sleep it's some one else's space and there posters of Green Day are still up on the wall... and I don't even like Green Day. It's like I'm invading someones space and they don't even know it. I don't know the guy at all... I can't even remember his name right now. I just know that if he knew I had been there for a few days he'd freak out though.

... so anyway. I was supposed to be writing about the pixel art I've been working on. Funny that I spend more and more time shredding paper. It's what they have me do in the office... isn't that an interesting coincidence? My pixel junk is okay. Not bad I suppose, but I'd be happier with hand done work. Pixels are fun for a while... but I just can't get past the whole I have better work I just can't share it crap. I feel like my hand drawn work is just simply better. I'm under a lot of stress with everything... sorry about the whole thing. What can I say...

ART DEATH!!!

Sat May 31, 2008, 9:18 PM
AAAAAAAAA!!!

Did I get your attention? good. My scanner is broken and I've been distracted by other things anyway. So i might not be submitting much lately... wait... I'll rephrase that. I wont be submitting ANYTHING any time in the neat future. Got work to do. Got an ALBUM to work on. Got some great plans involving music and mayhem and what-have-you. so be on the look out for it. It's gonna be AWESOME. And I don't use that word lightly... except for all those other times that I did. But they don't count. Becuase this times for real.

But I'll see what I can draw up. Keep the pencles on the paper and the photoshop programs running. Alright I've already wasted more than enough time on this dribble. I'm off. Look for Never Hundred under myspace or vampire freaks or newgrounds ... maybe download.com ... I don't know.

Drawing hands?

Sat May 17, 2008, 10:57 AM
So I was just about to explain to some person how to draw hands... but um... I thought it would annoy them so I didn't. And of course I'm not a great artist when it comes to such details myself. Sometimes I just make a scribble for a hand. Or I simplify it. Which is fine... because I tried. I think a lot of it is the whole shoulder arm limb thing, you have to get the prepositions right.

So here we go we have a head on top the body, the head and neck are very nearly the same thing. And the neck rest on the shoulders which are on the same line as were the arms begin. So you can divide the arm into to parts the arm and the forearm. the division is made at the elbow which rests in the same level as the lowest rib in the rib cage.

But the thing that gets most people confused the the tip of the appendage the hand. Even I'm not really great at the whole hand drawing crap... but I know the science. Pretty much you have the wrist where the arm ends and the hand begins. It's a swiveling joint, that eternally is a set of small short bones called caples that are placed togather to create a malleable hinge. It connects to the palm of the hand. Only primates have hands, the palm of the hand is internally complicated with many tendons and muscles. These tendons control the fingers and thumbs. The palm is pretty much there is fit in these important strings. but than the hand externally and proportionally is what we care about.

First I'll start with the thumb, shorter and stouter than the other four digits. It begins much lower in the palm that the rest, and is about the length of the pinky, but ends around where the index finger begins. it only bends twice while the other four fingers can bend three times. It's purpose is to help us grasp material things... those aren't ideas or quantum physics.

The rest pretty much begin where the palm ends, digit ratio begins at the first crease or bend. The longest is the middle finger. The index and ring are about the same size... some might argue the the ring finger is a tiny bit longer... but that's not enough to count. The pinky is the shortest of the fingers, ending roughly at the final crease in the ring finger.

So that wasn't much help. You could have just looked at your hand. Well... um... keep in mind that the thumb is not a finger, it moves differently and is placed out of the side of the hand. the index tends to move more nimbly than the other three fingers, it's often separate from them... that of course is not a rule. The knuckles are where the fingers begin and should be thought of as part of the fingers more than part of the palm. Just keep in mind what a hand would look like without any flesh on it and you're of to a good start.

The skeleton is the foundation of the shape of the human body, you just add to that to make a picture of a person. There are rules... and I should probably start following them.

scanner broked

So I had some new pics but nothing amazing. One of a protoss using the drug Sundrop.

So I had this Protoss druggie. He looks like he could be living on a Terran settlement by his clothing and the background perhaps. I don't know. I love how the character came to life after I drew him, putting little thought into who he was and why... just a protoss using sundrop. Than the apartment unfolded, I decided the walls were a little bare so I put up some posters. Put a coach and a door.

So I thought that Sundrop was applied to the skin and sort of evaporated when it came in contact with air. So that's how I drew it. So he's no on fire, it's just the vapors wafting from his skin. Also they're drifting out of the empty jars, and there are puddles on the floor of the spilt concoction.

So I was thinking, is he a templar, if so is he a high templar or a dark templar. Given the nature of the drug the effect would be much moSo obviously he is a high templar. Becuase he is high... lolz. but seriously the posters on his walls say things like, "For Auir" the homeworld of the high templar and "En Taro Tassadar" the executer and leader of the templar. Another clue that it's a Terran settlement becuase I don't think protoss would has a picture of Tassadar's death... although the Tarrens have pictures of there martyr being hung on a cross.

So that's that picture. The other is of some floating imp-like specters. But they sort of have lithe figures like protoss and no mouths. They weren't supposed to be a Starcraft reference. But along with the protoss using an hallucinatory drug... one that is known to cause fear and bad feelings for High Templar. For Dark Templar they feel better. I could explain why, but you wouldn't care.

So The second drawing could be an expansion of the first. Or I don't care... Becuase It doesn't matter.
